Need to stay away from sugar, carbohydrates, etc. Everything in moderation and need to always keep track of your sugar. This is not a death sentence if you keep track of things.

Carbs are converted by the body into glucose fairly rapidly, so the main dietary recommendation for type 2 diabetes is to limit (but not completely eliminate!) carb intake. Although it’s not a food, exercise is also extremely helpful in fighting type 2 diabetes.

For the weight loss part, it’s just a matter of following a healthy weight loss plan, the same as anyone else. Type 2 diabetes doesn’t create any special concerns there unless you’re on certain prescription medications to treat it.

avoid sugar; starchy foods like bread, pasta, potatoes; fruits (because of the sugar content); alcohol, because it metabolizes as pure sugar. try eating lots of non-starchy veggies, like celery, carrots, cucumbers, lettuce; low-fat meats, sea foods, fish; cheese, low or reduced sugar yogurts, milk. the adkins diet and south beach diets are very diabetic friendly. i hope that you are getting a doctor’s opinion/diagnosis before you do anything else, especially if type 2 is suspected. it’s not anything to play around with and you need to be educated about how to live with it. best of luck to you!
