What are the best ways to reduce the risk of getting type 1 diabetes?

I’m really scared that I’m going to get type 1 diabetes. I match two of the symptoms of it: extreme hunger and fatigue. Type 1 diabetes runs in my family, my sister, and great grandparents had it.
